573. coffee for three

Quinn Pendleton, Monte Carlo, Monaco. Sipped and enjoyed at Lake Como.

We were sitting in Como (the main town) having our daily capps, and just in front of us was a quartet of ladies, having their own little picnic on the bench. The four of them were squeezed on the one bench, and they were trying to eat togethe,r side by side, except that there was not enough space! I tried to capture the coffee with the social event in the background.”

572. como? coffee

That was my (lame) attempt at a little language humor.  A few more coffees from Quinn at Lake Como (oh, see, now you get it…I know, still a lame title).

570. instanbul

Quinn Pendleton, Monte Carlo, Monaco. Coffee sipped and shot in Istanbul.

(note from Kim: how fun is it to even write that… Monte Carlo….Istanbul….how fun to live it!)

“First Turkish coffee of the vacation! Sitting now in Galata, let’s see what the grinds read.. Last year in this same cafe we had a heart!”

567. coffee @ edinburgh

Kevin Cahill, Monterey, CA. Taken at the Edinburgh Airport, Scotland.

Taken the day before yesterday at the Edinburgh airport waiting to return to London. I’m presenting at the Oxford Round Table next week and we came over a week early for a little British “holiday.” The restaurant was called “Eat” and Chip had a “big mocha” and I had a “big cappuccino” which were surprisingly good.”

Kevin is one of our dearest friends, and we’ve known him almost as long as we’ve known each other (over 30 years). He’s a talented designer, cook and collector of rocks. And he and Chip have high standards for their coffee, so if they say it’s good, I will believe them. Though I kind of want to retitle this “I’m your coffee type.” Heh.

233. arabic coffee

Quinn Pendleton, Monaco. Another cup from her recent trip to Syria.

“This was from our last day, where they organized a tour of the Old Town for us, which was incredible! Afterwards, we were treated to a monstrous lunch, “Arab Style”, which of course was followed by Arabic Coffee (which is exactly like Turkish coffee in my opinion)…Enjoy!”

Yes, I will, I did…and now I have serious wanderlust!

232. I can’t read the menu, but I want the coffee

Quinn Pendleton, Monaco….traveling to Damascus, Syria.

“This was taken from a little cafe called Mocha and More, which was just next to our theater, so of course all the dancers went every day during the break. Unlike the coffee elsewhere in the city, they made an incredible cappuccino!”

Quinn is a dancer with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, and blogs about her life (which is pretty different from my life) and travels (which are extensive, exotic, and always include good coffee), here.
