Yup, my dad. In Hawaii. Without me. Not that I am bitter or anything. Just a slight case of tropical envies.
1000 cups of coffee, one photo at a time
From Nicolle of Boyd’s Crazy Mama. Drinking coffee, taking photos and staying calm in Texas.
A champagne toast, chased by some good coffee, to the newlyweds, Will and Kate. Here’s to you.
Just in time for the Royal Wedding. I wonder if my invitation was lost in the mail?
I bought this cup in Canada, I think it was at a cheap tourist shop at the ferry…and I think I paid about $1 for it. I felt a little embarrassed at the time, but now I wish I had a few more. The tablecloth was my grandmother’s, and I bring it out whenever I need to get my fancy on.
Best wishes to Will and Kate, I hope you have a wonderful life together.

“I took this breakfast photo a while back while doing my dissertation research in Cameroon. It’s not the best photo, but do you have any African coffee yet? I think this cup was actually brewed, but most coffee there is Nescafe instant – boy was I happy to get back to Common Grounds here in Davis!!”
I met Reina through her Flickr photos, but today I am meeting her in real life. For coffee, of course!

Ritual Coffee Roasters, Oxbow Market, Napa, CA.
Easter Sunday was a little different for us this year. We skipped most of the usual rituals, but enjoyed a fine spring day. Drank coffee in the Chemex (special because it requires a few more steps and a little more patience), walking the dog, and lunch in Napa at Morimoto. After lunch we wandered (or perhaps rolled) over to Oxbow Market to meet our friends, Elle and Joseph, for coffee. Alex had Green Tea Ice Cream. Fine, lovely and appreciated.
Help us celebrate our 500th cup of coffee, coming mid-June (perhaps) with a cacophony of phone photos (iPhone, Smart Phone, any phone). Hoping to post at least 50, and mark #500 with a collage of all. Grab your coffee and your phone, and send me what ever grabs you. Soon! And thanks!

“I think I love taking pictures of my cappuccino almost as much as drinking it. And it’s not just my cappuccino; I love looking at other people’s pictures of their coffee / cappuccinos / lattes. Like flowers, an image of coffee just makes me happy.”
Janine runs the Flickr Group, Caffeine Nation. Like me, she just can’t get enough, so she musters up a little more. Flickr photostream is here and her photo Facebook page is here.

“My teenage son recently discovered a group called Apocalyptica from Finland while searching for a Metallica video on youtube. They are a group of cellists who do covers of, wait for it . . . heavy metal bands (btw, they also do originals). First of all, who doesn’t love the cello? Secondly, there’s actually quite a bit of heavy metal I like, the band Metallica for one. Please, I beg you, listen to Apocalyptica’s cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”. You will not be sorry. It moves me to tears . . . and yes, I realize that’s not hard to do, but still.”
